Job Summary:

As a Field Marketing Manager for Wendy's, you will play a pivotal role in driving local store marketing (LSM) initiatives, sales growth, and community engagement across multiple locations. This dynamic position requires a hands-on, self-driven professional with a strong sales mentality and passion for local marketing. You will be responsible for developing and implementing tailored marketing plans, coordinating new store openings, and supporting each store’s unique local marketing needs. This role involves a significant amount of travel to work directly with Area Directors, and General Managers, focusing on market-specific strategies to drive in-store traffic, build brand loyalty, and increase sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Local Store Marketing & Training
  • Lead and execute hands-on training for ADs and General Managers, ensuring effective implementation of Wendy’s company-wide LSM initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for key focus areas, taking a community-centered approach to build brand awareness.
  • Coordinate and oversee local marketing efforts, focusing on initiatives that resonate with each store’s community.
  • Sales-Driven Community Engagement
  • Actively work in each market, implementing "feet on the ground" strategies to engage with local communities and drive store sales.
  • Conduct hands-on sales cold calls to establish cross-promotional partnerships and strengthen community ties.
  • New Store Openings & Marketing Coordination
  • Manage all aspects of marketing for new store openings, from initial planning to successful execution.
  • Targeted Marketing Initiatives & Sales Analysis
  • Identify and act on unique business opportunities within trade areas, researching and implementing initiatives tailored to specific community needs (e.g., dine-in, carryout, and catering).
  • Provide sales analysis to understand market needs and direct focused marketing efforts.
  • Competitive Positioning & Market Support
  • Execute "competitive blunting" strategies to protect market share and respond effectively to local competition.
  • Design and execute down-sales market and store-specific plans, tailored to unique needs of stores within each area.
  • Day-to-Day Engagement & Local Sponsorship Management
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for Area Directors and General Managers, fostering open communication to support their marketing needs.
  • Review and evaluate small-scale local sponsorships to determine relevance and potential return on investment.
  • College & Special Market Coordination
  • Lead marketing strategies for college towns and other specialized markets, tailoring outreach to meet specific demographic needs.
  • Travel & Hands-On Market Work
  • Travel approximately 60% of the time within the given market.
  • Collaborate in-person with store managers to brainstorm and execute location-specific promotions and initiatives.
